We know that to be true but it was the film of the same name that created the "sex kitten" Brigitte Bardot. 1956 was the year that this iconic look was created. Hard to believe that this post coital look was born in the 50's later to be named the "bed head" look.

Not even the Farrah, Madonna, or the Rachel have lasted as long as Brigitte Bardot's sex kitten look. It made a brief resurgence in the late 80's Guess campaign with Claudia Schiffer but didn't catch on again until we started embracing hair add on's.

You may think that hair add on's and extensions were something new but in fact they started adding on substitute hair in the late 50's to create larger than life hair do's. In fact the styles of the 60's couldn't be achieved without them. They're in somewhat different forms now but still just as necessary for the larger than life hairstyles that people like Pamela Anderson, Kim Kardashian, and Jessica Simpson wear today.

Thank God for Brigitte Bardot.
